On Montpelier's 2024 Lab Analysis Program, participants will spend the week learning the basics of artifact conservation and curation through hands-on workshops including artifact condition assessment, documentary photography, artifact cleaning and rust removal, electrolytic reduction, mending and repairing. Participants will experience behind-the-scenes tours of artifact storage facilities and other areas not normally accessible to the public, participate in discussions about how conservation decisions are made, and enjoy lectures from leaders in the museum field.

This program will be focused on analysis of the artifacts from the past three years of excavations at the overseer's house, primarily the ceramics and conservation of iron.
